Global Warming; the Great Gamble with Nature
We mostly experience gambling in casinos and gambling hotspots all over our countries, but much more are we experiencing the effects of humankind's greatest gamble. We are talking about the effects of gambling with our planet and the environment; Global Warming. Many indeed say it is natural or it is a myth, but we say it is the effect of bad gambling. Let us take a look at what people and gambling institutions are doing to protect the environment.
For decades people have known about the greenhouse effect and still took the gamble when they emitted more and more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The greenhouse effect states that these dangerous gases will make the atmosphere like a solid glass layer. The glass layer lets light in but will not let it back out and thus the earth will start to heat up.
This little gambling game with the earth has been going too far when the United States of America decided not to join the Kyoto protocol and started emitting even more greenhouse gases. The US government have taken the greatest gamble and started polluting the world even more since they thought they have the power to do so.
Meanwhile, other countries took responsibility for the botched gamble and started enacting laws to protect the environment and to start preventing people from polluting it. Even many gambling institutions have started supporting the environment awareness. The German lottery for example donated a part of their revenue to the environment, by planting new trees or protecting endangered plants and areas.
Environmental gambling games have even been introduced to educate the player and the masses with the importance of protecting our environment and the importance of stopping the gamble of our planet by polluting it through the excessive use of cars and by pollution through garbage. Gambling games have even been played on television to raise the awareness.
Come countries even started gambling for a cause. The funds of the gambling games will go into organizations like Greenpeace and some gambling games have even had great results in educating the young and the old about environmental friendly living.
We have gambled with our lives and probably with our money, but let us not gamble with our earth because the earth can be lost through gambling, but then can never be replaced so let us raise the awareness of green and healthy living and let us protect ourselves from the dangerous gamble against our own planet.
